Choosing the right thermal or night vision optic
Choosing an optic starts with how you plan to use it. Thermal equipment detects heat, making it useful for spotting warm objects against cooler surroundings, even in poor visibility. Night vision instead amplifies available light or uses infrared illumination to produce a visible image.
Think about whether you need a dedicated scope, a handheld spotter, a front-mounted system, a multispectral optic, or a versatile system that can switch between day and night use.
Features such as image resolution, magnification, battery life and a built-in rangefinder can also affect your choice. Don't overlook mounting requirements, especially when comparing air gun optics with equipment designed for other applications.
At Forest Lodge Guns, our team can help you compare options based on your requirements and budget.
